    The European Union Data Protection Directive / (LED) repeals the Council Framework Decision //JHA and needs to be transposed into domestic law to take effect from May replacing existing data protection legislation in relation to personal data processing for law enforcement purposes. The European Works Council Directive /38/EC (or sometimes the "Transnational Works Council Directive") is a European Union Directive on the establishment of works councils, for the purpose of information and consultation, in companies that operate transnationally within the EU.
